Hunter 30 Centerport
Peggy,

Well the time has come to replace the old head in my Hunter 30. I should have done it when it was in the yard but now I have no choice. Anyway do you have a specific preferenc on the brand/type of hose I should use for the 1 1/2" stuff, the vent line and the seawater supply line?

Inquiring minds want to know....
Thanks....

Trident 101 or 102 (same hose except for color) for the 1.5"...Shields or Trident #148 for tank vent and toilet intake lines.

The sbo.com online store right here has all of it for prices that will be hard to beat.

The best is : Poly X Sanitation Hose, 1-1/2"ID, 1-27/32"OD
With a lifetime warranty against odor permeation, this is the best sanitation hose.

On what, except that it has a lifetime warranty, are you basing your opinion that it's the best sanitation hose? Have you used it? Do you know anyone who has? Have you even read any reviews...ANYthing other than Shields claims for it?

'Cuz I've never seen or heard of anyone who's used it...no reviews, NOTHING except Shields' own sales material. You're the only person I've ever seen recommend it.

Otoh, Trident 101/102 has been sold all over the world for over a decade without a single reported odor permeation failure...and it's consistently top rated in reviews of sanitation hose.

So what do you know that I don't that makes Shields Poly X hose worth twice as much as Trident 101/102?

That wasn't my intent

Sic 'em gurl!
I wasn't "out to get her"...A lot of people are asking me about Shields new Poly X hose...she's the first person I've seen recommend it and I wanna know why...'cuz I base most of my product recommendations on people's actual experience with 'em...never mind what the mfr claims, the only thing that matters IMO is the product's track record. So I'm really interested in knowing why she recommended it.

I Have This Hose And It Has Been Great.

Well, then let this be the first official review. I purchased the hose from WM.
I purchased 8 feet, needed 7 feet. I installed it myself, with two ss clamps on each end and it works great! It was hard to cut, but easy enough to bend around the small corner in the head.

Yours is indeed the first user review...

So you only replaced one section...which one--head to tank? Or tank to pump out? Why DID you only replace one piece? How long has it been on the boat?

Re: Yours is indeed the first user review...

I only replaced the head to the holding tank. It was a white hose. The stench after leaving the window in the head open after a rain was terrible! I used the damp wet rag trick on the other hoses. I could not smell much foul oder from the others. They are black hoses. I am assuming they were replaced at some point. I have only had this hose in since April. Not everyone properly pumps out to the tank after using the head.. so if there is going to be an oder, I will know it sooner or later. If it doesn't work, I can always get my money back. But, it appears to have some promise. (Cross my fingers) Cuz, it is expensive.

*I was told about it from a guy that does repairs on boats for a living...
