What motor vessel is this?

I know. What part of "sailing forum" don't I understand?
However, I snapped this pic in San Pedro of a gorgeous boat. I can't tell what if is, and I'm not a member of any power forums.
It looks like an older style design, but in new condition. About 40 feet.
Simultaneously angular and swept. At first slightly confusing, but then everything fits.
It just kept growing on me, as I stared from the walkway. So I took a picture.
Maybe someone can put it on a power forum for feedback.

It does look like a pretty boat. No idea what it is.

I've always wonder why boat builders do not I.D. their boats as much as cars do. might help sales.

I like the older style much better then the newer stuff, nicer lines (imo)

I'm thinking a Marinette, aluminum hull, made in Jeffersonville, IN. The sharp edges make me think of metal, and the lack of style also suggest Marionette.

Its the deep red paint. Not a common color on boats, but still looks good. Gives it a more traditional feel. Sailors like traditional looks. Your affinity is no surprise. Paint it black instead and it would look just like any other boat.

Yes, it's brilliant in person.
Also the combination of sloping bow, raised pilothouse with aircraft-style windows, slanted salon windows, the swoosh stripe and matching hullside stripe, aft edge angle of the sundeck and salon aft bulkhead matching the angle of the transom and even the swim step. etc. And touches like the bright polished stainless window frames, salon entrance door frames, and rub rail, high mooring chocks in the cockpit, etc.
Very stylish.

It looks very much like an Italian built Riva. I interviewed on one very similar, but larger. It came out the owner was a retired NYC Don and he wanted to spend his last years messing about in boats. We got on well, but the family decided to go with a family member, not an outsider, to captain his boat.

Window style and "proper size" deck cleats marks it as Swedish or maybe Finnish. (strictly IMHO)
