What length engine stop cable

I have a 1998 Hunter 336 with a Yanmar engine. I have to replace the engine stop cable and it seems that they come in 8 & 10 foot length according to the dealer. I know i can take the old one out and measure it but to save time I want to order it first.

I believe either would work for your boat but if it was me I would wait until I could measure the one there now to get the best fit. The boat can be easily operated with no stop cable as the fuel shut off lever can be manually operated. Just keep a spring on it to keep it from accidentally closing itself. With the boat operational I see no downside in waiting.
