my favs

master and commander, dead calm, one crazy summer similar plot as summer rental Demi Moore and John Cusack are in it. Jaws 2 shark has fun eating hippy kids on Hobie cats. white squall is ok.

Has anybody mentioned

"Captain Horatio Hornblower" with Gregory Peck in the title role? The sailing scenes are realistic enough to actually look like they were directed by a sailor. Worth a look if you get a chance. Actually, "Moby Dick" was pretty good, too.

A&E's Horatio Hornblower series

I also like the Horatio Hornblower series. My wife picked up all 8 episodes in a single set for me last Christmas. Lots of sailing action and the extra's are very informative. One of the discs has a 45 minute extra compaing the old British Navy to the modern British Navy. Neat little details like the fact that the daily rum ration was a part of Navy tradition all the way up until 1979! I highly recommend picking it up!

the best

Wind has to be the best "SAILING" movie. The international 14s footage is inspiring to say the least. Enjoy!

I watched one the other day that had Ashley Judd and Tommy Lee Jones in it. It was a pretty good movie with some sailing in it. The name was "Double Jepordy". But my all time favorite has to be "Captain Ron", with "Wind" comming in right behind it. (Pun Intended).
