I subscribe to Chesapeake Bay Magazine and Sail. They also have websites. The other Bay mazazines, Spinsheet and The Mariner are available free from Bay outlets. They also have websites, Spinsheet at http://www.spinsheet.com/, The Mariner at http://www.themariner.net/, and Chesapeake Bay Magazine at http://www.cbmmag.net/.

SAIL magazine lacks detail, sometimes leaves you hanging. CRUISING WORLD is excellent, but the new editor seems to have a fixation for using what to me is offensive language, that is frequent attempts at off-color humor as well as constant reference to alcohol consumption. so i am less enthusiastic in recommending it now. Recently I joined the list of readers sending a letters of protest to the editor. It finally got to me when the ed. published a letter of such protest, and then proceeded to try to humiliate the writer for being closed-minded. Not that I don't enjoy off-color humor in its rightful place, but please don't distract me when i'm trying to fix my diesel. If any readers have an opinion about "inappropriate language" in what seems to me to be a family-sort of publication, or would enlighten me that possibly I am just too old-fashioned, please respond.
