Wow! When I started this thread, I never realized how content so many of us sailors are!

Perhaps i need to reexamine my priorities?!?!?!
Well, the operative phrase was"...comfortably afford any boat out there." :cussing:

My Oday 23 is perfect for what I do now: daysailing with the very occasional overnight. Anything bigger or more complicated would just be wasted time and money. To take advantage of a "dream" boat would require a different life, with different priorities for both me and my family.

If anyone but me in my family were interested in sailing and cruising around New England, my dream boat is the Seaward 32RK. Beautiful and practical.

For cruising the Great Lakes I like what I have, a Catalinna C400, but since you asked us to dream I would go with a Schumacher 46. I need to stay with a size that my wife and I can handle alone but would be a good boat for cruising the world!!!

I like the Seaward RK32 also but I might be tempted by the new Seaward 42! lol. The shoal draft of these boats is just what I need for the type of cruising I hope to do.

I don't have a special brand in mind, just a boat large enough to accommodate a washer and dryer, that doesn't break the bank.

I'll give a second to the Outbound 46. The Hylas 46 is a fine boat also. These days you have to go older, or semi-custom to find a boat with shaft drive.

My "lottery boat" is a Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 54DS, with full electronics. Someday...

My current boat, Coronado 41

My favorite is my current boat, a Coronado 41, 1972, Center Cockpit. I rescued her from a boat yard on the south side of Chicago with the blessings of the former owner. Have since rebuilt her Palmer P60 engine, rewired the mast and new LED lights, a new anemometer on top, and slowly the cosmetics. She handles the wind and waves, great, a very stable and dry boat.

I like to say, I rescued her and she rescued me. Keeps me warm at night and is the one woman that doesn't talk back to me. Although she does like to point up if I don't pay attention to her!!

We're really content and happy with out Seaward 25. That said, Greg's Norsea 27 would let us go places our Seaward 25 wasn't built for. But then I'd also have to lust for a bigger towing rig...

Oday 28

I really love my Oday 28, however, not at the end of our club races. I am thinking of buying a "racing" boat as I am an old Star sailor and love to win!

Any one want a nice Oday 28?

I'm very happy with my Ericson 28 for where I am now but Blue Jacket 40 hull #2 is at our marina now. Was just looking it over Saturday. Works for me...

We bought our dream boat 10 years ago, a Hunter 466, and it is still our dream boat. Easy to handle, big enough for our family of four grown children and three grandchildren (not necessarily all at once). Fast enough to handle most Puget Sound currents. Paid for makes it all the more "affordable".

Cascade- Cascade 42 Pearl Harbor, HI
It would be a 54 foot Hylas but the biggest boat I can put in my slip in Pearl Harbor is 48/49 feet so I would go with a Hylas 46. Our Cascade 42 has been a great boat but I would like something a little beamer now.
