Wire to rope halyards

Those are wire to rope halyards, and I'd chuck them down to "Davey Jones" if I had them. The guy who owned them probably converted his halyards over to non-stretch braid. He also replaced the sheaves to accept the new halyards. I would have done the very same thing if I had them on my boat. I take that back. Maybe I'd just keep the rope and throw the wire away.

But what about the swivel with hooks?

if they are halyards, then what are the blocks all about and what is the swivel with the two hooks at the bottom of the picture?

Just a guess...

It looks like old halyards. It looks like the PO wanted to make use of them. It could be the PO's mast raising blocks.
The single could be the PO's make shift spinaker halyard.
Just some ideas...
I would toss the halyards and keep the blocks, they are always a good thing to have as spares.

running backstays

You've got two of the same thing same length? If the sheaves are sized for the sheet, then I bet 25 cents they're running backstays for use with a roachy main.

How long are they?

How long are they? I have a 35' Chris Craft sailboat and I want to keep it as original as possible. Perhaps I could use them. I only have 2 halyards and would like to add a spare.
