Hi guys and gals! This little white piece came off I believe off of my roller furling main?I believe it to be broken in half and I got only one part of it. How important is it? Does anyonne know what this piece is? p.s. I didn't do it;) My Thanks, B/Seadance

just a guess

Got to do a Harken tour because of some friends and noticed their furlers are shipped with plastic spacers for protection. If this is a new boat or a Harken unit, my guess it's a spacer someone forgot to remove during commissioning.

Insert for aluminum tube??

My roller furling had a little plastic insert to match the round tubing on the end with the bearings to the rectangular cross section of the aluminum track. When it broke the bearings were off center and I couldn't use the furling. I had to order a new one. My roller furling is a SeaFurl 5. Your's might be simular.

Don's right, since only YOU know what

kind of furler you have, go to the manufacturer's website (unless you already have a manual and parts list) and find out what it is. You didn't mention the brand. Or check with someone on your dock who has one and really knows about the equipment.

Cruising Design

I don't recognize this piece, there was a broken sheave in there if I remember correctly. Not sure if thats it or not. By the way, this is a Cruising Design furler.

Seadance... how's the boat?

I hope you are starting to get use to your boat. Do you have any new photo's? Which marina are you using?

Love the boat

Love love love the boat. A name for her has not hit us yet so she is still "Gin Mill". She is slipped at Keesler Air Force Base..nice and quiet there. During the week I am there everyday working on her and we sail Saturday and Sunday. She's strong and reliable and behaves beautifully on the water.... she hates sitting in her slip. We've got lots of projects for her coming up.. deck paint, ports, new lines.. a sewing machine from Sailrite. We just replaced all the blocks and I have been scrubbing, varnishing, polishing and babying her. I'm learning how to get thru the channel, how to read the charts, gps and use the autopilot and working on pulling her into the slip... out of it and sail her on my own is my big goal...my husband is a very patient man and God Bless him for pushing me and telling me ..yes I can do it! Will post some new pics of her when I get out on the dinghy again this weekend near the islands. Thank you for asking! Thank you guys for looking for me..Brian nothing looks familiar on the page you listed. I have checked catalogs and can't seem to match it up. B/Seadance

Reefing furler

Check to see if you can still reef the headsail. After a very similar looking piece fell out of mine, I now have two sail positions....in or out...:(
