When I recently bought a 1994 H26, I found this part in the lower step with the water ballast valve. It is plastic and has O rings at upper and lower points and is 1.5 inches in diameter. I can't figure it out. Any ideas?
You're welcome. You would normally replace the thru hull with the plug before hauling out, to protect the paddle wheel/axle from damage from the travel-lift slings.
You can also pull your knot meter out with your boat in the water and replace it with the plug. Clean your knot meter at your leisure and the swap them back out.
You can also change it while underway. Just go full speed under power and pull your knot meter. Very little water will come in and you can then insert your plug.
