I am investigating whether an O'Day 25 is a viable model for my family of 3, and have run into a large number of boats for sale. As I will eventually need to purchase a suitable tow vehicle, I would like the definitive answer on this models displacement. I have seen everything from 3850 lbs. to 4800 lbs. My understanding of displacement, is the total weight of the boat and rigging, minus the other gear.

Mine weighs about 4300lbs

David,I have a 300lb diesel on board but I had my boat and trailor weighed a few years back, and I came in at 5650lbs, so the trailor weighs about 1000lbs. I tow with a full size van, with a 318 cui. I have towed it with a large six but only a short distance. If the tow vehicle is set up right with a class 3 hitch a small 8 will tow it just fine. Don
