Hi,
I am trying to find the name of the cover for the storage area at the bow most portion of the v-berth of my catalina 22. The attached picture is from a video I took a screenshot of on youtube. I would like to find a cover like that the one in the picture. I need to know the name so that I can properly search for one. Anyone who can inform me of the name?

That cover is probably made by the previous owner. Don't think you'll find that part; take picture and dimensions to a cabinet maker and it can be quickly made. Or, if ya have afriend wo does woodwork, ya might entice that craftsman to make one for ya.. a good rum is usually an enticement!

If you are willing to do it I am willing to get the rum. What kind do you like? And are you serious?

Erbady...seriously, make a template of that panel, buy a piece of birch plywood (or teak or other if budget permits), cut out to size, sand, rout a 1/4 rd edge around perimeter and hole, buy a $10 brass decorative anchor at your local chandlery or online in lieu of that anchor cutout, varnish several coats, done....eze...

Not that hard .I made the forepeak hatch about 6 inches deep. I made it out of Spanish cedar . insect and moisture resistant . Smells great .I use the space to store a towel ,fleece blanket, hoodie and flashlight .

I looked at some interior pics for this boat and found both wood covering and a beckson inspection port leading me to believe there an anchor locker of sorts on the other side. If that’s so, i would not put a cover on with a cutout. It would transfer smells into the cabin and if you put a hose into that locker from above, you can soak the V berth. As stated above, easy to make without the cutout. And, I would put a gasket in between..

catalina 25? I recall having a cover just like that. easy to make a cover as others suggested. No need for an exact replica, enjoy YOUR boat, and make it your own.

On our Catalina 30 Mk I the anchor locker is a fibreglass 'bowl'. You can not reach into the locker from that door, but the space that is there is not sealed off from the bilge completely. The door has a recessed finger slot like the other doors on board. I'd do as the others have suggested and just screw a decorative item to it, paint something there, or carve/route a design.

I made one just like it. I think I saw the original on the Stingy Sailor website. It took less than 2 hours. Used exterior plywood and covered it with wood grained Formica. Found an anchor drawing in a magazine and cut it out with a jig saw.The only hard part was beveling the edges to fit the hull.
