What is the best propeller?

I have a 1975 Catalina powerered by an Atomic 4. My shaft is 1" and the propeller is a three bladed 12" 6. As I have just found a crack in it, I was wondering if I should replace it with one of the same dimensions or whether there are better options.

my cat 30 also has the a-4 with a 2 blade prop.it is more power than the boat really needs.the prop is a 12inch 7degree pitch (12 by 7)

A few options

Try Don Moyer's site - he covers this topic very well. In short, CDI and a few other companies make props specifically matched to the Atomic four. You can go with a three blade or two blade, and the CDI two blade design has received some very good reviews.
