Long lasting, less cleaning. Is the most expensive is the best paint? Or any budget paints can work pretty good? Please give me advice.

My experience has been that the more you spend, the better the bottom paint works.

It depends where you are, I.e., the water conditions where your boat is. For example, the most effective anti-fouling here in Sarasota may not be effective in Tampa Bay for a number of reasons.

Ask the locals what they use, not people here.

In my experience, in the tropics, the cheapest paint I can buy does nearly as bad a job at keeping our bottom antifouled, as any other. After a few months, you or somebody is going to have to clean the bottom on a regular basis.

Others have provided good advise.............just to add check with your marina boat neighbors and bottom cleaning diver for their recommendation.

Exactly.

I had been using Micron CSC for years and repainting every two years. Acceptable bottom condition. The reason for every two years was that my indicator coat (bottom layer coat, black) showed through every two years.

An employee at West Marine suggested I try West Marine CPP Plus which is just under 50% of the cost of micron CSC.

The first two coats were applied in 2013 and the indicator coat showed through in 2019. Not bad for seven years. Same kind of mileage as before.

Good for me in my waters ...................... maybe not so good in your waters.

Are you trailering your 240 to the water or keeping it in a slip? Maybe you don't need bottom paint at all. Just powerwash each time you haul it out.

For questions like that I ask the folks at the local boat yard. Go to their store to see what they are selling, etc. Also, bottom painting w/anti-fouling paint is a multi-step process if done correctly. The paint itself is only a part of the cost. Good preparation of the bottom is typically the step that leads to the best outcome, especially in relation to its condition before painting.

Thank you all. By the way how much paint do I need?
Buy 1 gallon of what the locals suggest is effective where you are. You’ll have half left over for next year and you can be sure the price isn’t going down anytime soon.
