What is in the "Cruise-Pac"

My wife and I are interested in a 260, enough so that we met with the local dealer to get a price on the 2000 model he has in stock. When he added it all together, the price was about $34,000. He said he would discount the boat by 10%, leaving a price of about $31,000. Among the things he added to the base price of the boat was about $3800 for a trailer, and $150 for dock lines and fenders. I expressed some surprise that he was charging for these items, since I thought I had read they were part of the "Cruise-Pac." Am I mistaken? Also, am I mistaken to think that I should expect more than a 10% discount for what is now a year old boat that he admits has been sitting on the lot for 9 months? Thanks for any responses.

Cruise Pac

Our 2000 Cruise Pac did NOT include dock lines and fenders. We had to buy them ourselves and spent about $150 for them.The Cruise Pac included life jackets, horn, "Basic Keel Boat Manual", and some other stuff I can't remember. I think the list is defined on the Hunter Marine web site, under "H260 features" We had all that stuff from our previous boat, so didn't need them, but there was no option NOT to get the Pac.Nancy BergAy Chihuahua, H260Albuquerque, NM

I confirmed at the Hunter website that both the trailer and the lines/fenders are not considered part of the CruisePac. Sorry, I should have looked there sooner. But if anyone has a reaction to the price we were quoted, I would appreciate any comments. Thanks.

A little high

Dave,I don't know where you're located but I think the price on the trailer is steep. It should be closer to $2500. You might try looking through the for sales here as you can get quite a deal on a used model that already has lots of "goodies" added.I bought a new '98 but only did this because I traded in an old C-22 that I didn't want to mess with and got a pretty good boat show deal.Just my thoughts on it.Good luck,Jim Coveys/v Wampeter

there is always room to work on the price, if you are not satisifed keep talking money, get some other quotes and be prepared with other price quotes,ads,etc.The final price depends on how "hot" the market is in your local area. I would try again! Good Luck! this is a horrible business to deal in and the marine trade is a captive one that has no respect for the customer!

check with other dealers before making up your mind, for that amount you need to be able to feel good abou t the deal when all is said and done, if not you will always wonder , also be running into people who told you that they got a better deal, check with crazy dave, he is a h unter dealer who makes appearances here from time to time, most dealers will go farther geographically than u realize to sell a boat in this range, good luck, Mike
