My daughter has a dance conference in Janurary in Baltimore. I usually stay away from them but we will be staying at the inner harbor so I defiently will be going to this one. I have been to the inner harbor several times and know most places of intrest there, aquarium and the USS Constellation, and I have been to the Annapolis sailboat show several times. During the boat show we normally drove into Annapolis and back to the hotel that same day so I haven't really seen Annapolis. I figure there has to be some really good consignment shops and stores marine related, along with museums and resturants. Any places you think a sailor would enjoy visiting in Annapolis, and Baltimore for that matter, I would appreciate a recomendation.

Thanks,
Rod

While Bacons is a good place to go, they are presently (again) re-arranging the store's inventory to carry new stuff. The old stuff is still there. No one ever mentions a short drive will get you to Fairwinds Marina (on the Magothy River) where they have a WAREHOUSE of used stuff. And some new, stuff, too.

If you go to the Naval Academy and enjoy history visit the crypt Commodore John Paul Jones, the great naval leader of the American Revolution. An honor guard stands duty whenever the crypt is open to the public.

Jones was bid to rest in the crypt of the Naval Academy Chapel on Jan. 26, 1913. The crypt was designed by Beaux Arts architect Whitney Warren, and the 21-ton sarcophagus and surrounding columns of black and white Royal Pyrenees marble were the work of sculptor Sylvain Salieres. The sarcophagus is supported by bronze dolphins and is embellished with cast garlands of bronze sea plants. Inscribed in set-in brass letters around the base of the tomb are the names of the Continental Navy ships commanded by John Paul Jones during the American Revolution: Providence, Alfred, Ranger, Bonhomme Richard, Serapis, Alliance and Ariel. American national ensigns (flags) and union jacks are placed between the marble columns.

Be very aware of parking meters in Annapolice! I was 2 minutes late getting back to my parking meter and got a very expensive ticket.
