After removing an old radar cable that I'm not replacing, I have a hole that is about 1/2" in diameter (but not perfectly round) in my aluminum mast. Any suggestions on the best way to plug this hole? The mast is up and I don't want to weld a patch over the hole. Would Marine-Tex or West System Epoxy work? Brad

Just get a little square or round aluminum

scrap shape it to fit the curve and stick it on with a little adhesive caulk, acrylic will work if you keep it dry for a couple of days.

Rubber Plug.

Round out the hole to next size whether 1/2, 5/8 or 3/4 and insert a rubber plug. You can get them in a hardware or automotive store. Different metals will cause corrosion and any epoxy will be time consuming work. This way if you ever need to install any wiring in the mast just pop the plug and you don't have to drill. Buy a couple of plugs because the UV rays will deteriorate it in a couple of seasons.
