What is a good book on wiring?

I have just bought a 1975 Venture 25 that has lights, a place for a battery and a home made pannel with switches and fuses. The problem is that it is old, rusty and probably in need of replacement. I am not even sure how to get things to work. Is there a good book on how to wire for lights, battery needs, radios and things like that? Also, how does the motor charge the battery, how do I hook the motor to the battery, etc. I am not new to sailing, however, I am new to a boat with a 12 volt system. Help! Thanks

I just rebuilt my entire electrical system, it sounds a lot worse than it is. Most of the electrical panels you purchase have directions, the most difficult part is fishing the wires - for that you'll need to get a fairly rigid electrical snake to get into those hard to reach areas. If you don't have a multiple battery switch already, I would suggest upgrading to a multiple battery system while you are at it. Good luck!

I have the "Boatowner's Illustrated Electrical Handbook" by Wing, McGraw-Hill, 2nd edition, 2006. It is hardcover, about an inch thick.
