It's still bottled up in committee

Subcommittee hearings were held in May, ending with a recommendation to send it the full House Committee with a recommendation for passage. However, the environmental zealots--backed by pumpout equipment mfrs--have not been idle...they convinced the full committee that there's a need for more input from them before deciding whether to send it to House floor for a vote. Meanwhile, Congress has had other, more pressing matters to deal with than whether a few boat owners should be able to discharge treated waste overboard in coastal waters...there aren't enough of us, nor are boat owners well enough organized to have ANY impact on the outcome of any election. So don't look for anything more to be done with HR 3673 until sometime next year at the earliest. Anyone who doesn't have the faintest idea what we're talking about can go to the link below to read the full Bill (it's very short). Rep James Saxton (R-NJ), author of HR 3673, is a sailor, btw.
