I admit that i was sore tempted to

give some smart as* replies, but for everyone I treat the first question as an honest one after that you're on your own.

Tony and Franklin,

I don't judge people I don't know. Think about it. Good night.

I guess I was misunderstood

All I was saying is that I do believe it's a real poster. I think Tony knows what I was saying.

Fair enough Franklin,

But my comment still stands. This site is about promoting sailing, and people that say things like "I cant believe that you guys believe that this is a serious post" make me consider suggesting that they keep those kinds of post over on SA. Armen asks some interesting and serious questions. I think it is in the best interest of promoting sailing to choose to answer them in a positive manner, and not try and run him off with questionable comments.

Armen, You have asked a question that can

produce a multitude of answers. The problem is that we have had many people ask questions that really don't matter. So, it would be nice to hear a response from you so that this thread can either stop, or move on in response to your multiplistic question. r.w.landau

You stated .."I don't judge people I don't know. Think about it." Well I thought about it. You just judged the poster to be real or you would not have responded to my post. Change your statement to be more accurate. Good night.

Tony, that is fair

So I will respond, and change my statement to be more accurate. "You stated .."I don't judge people I don't know. Think about it." Well I thought about it. You just judged the poster to be real or you would not have responded to my post." You are suggesting that I "judged" this poster. And you are correct, I did. I judged him as a person that had some honest questions about sailing, and gave him the benefit of the doubt, that he is interested in sailing, but actually knows nothing about sailing. Novel, but I accept that there are really people that don't know about sailing. You sir, judged him as a poster that is not making a serious post. You did, not me. Most of us answered his questions in an honest, positive manner. One, Duane, even offered a ride on his sailboat. Dancin Bear would if it wasn't 10 degrees out, and snowing. Armen even responded. Give him some credit. So you are correct, I did judge him. At face value, and answered his questions without looking down my nose at him like you did. I'll take the high road, realizing that the low road is well worn.....

To whom I haven't had the chance to THANK

Thank you! I have generated enough responces from you guys packed full of info that it will keep me busy for some time until I digest all this info and have enough knowledge to decide on the right boat, and then come back here again to bombard you with silly questions that will make more "sense." By then, I would have saved up enough money to be able to buy the sailboat of my dreams! No, not a brand spanking shiny Beneteau or Catalina or what have you, but probably a boat that's about 30 or 20 years older, 28-35 feet long, is in fair to good condition, needs some work, and can be trusted to take me from shinning sea to a shinning sea! I bet you didn't see that last part coming did you? LOL! I think it's fair to say that some posters are frustrated at my lack of knowledge even about the elementary boating concepts. But how can one know the taste of honey if one never eaten one before? I can assure you that my mother didn't pass me this info about sailing through her umbelical cord. Thank you all very much! Armen

Armen, After your last response....

Conch, I agree with you! Armen is bogas. The good thing is that phil has the abitity to monitor real e-mail names that come to this site. Armen, where ever you and who ever you are, if you are interested in sailing, ask your questions one at a time. The ressponcse will be real and valuable. Your shot gun question was a dead give away that you are messing with us. r.w.landau

r.w.landau.....

If you think Armen is bogas, then you agree with ME and not with Conch. Conch lambasted me for saying this was bogas. I think it was pretty obvious that it was a put-on.

................ I have been sailing for about 12 years in B.C. waters. Right now it's just above freezing, it looks like it will never stop raining, and I can't even remember what the sun looks like. Please take me sailing with you when you take Armen out. I'll do anything to get warm. Best regards, s/v Island Hunter

Ralph, You are certainly welcome, I sail all year here in southern California. In fact my best sails are in the winter, especially to Catalina. In the winter it is easy to get a tie-up at Avalon. The trip down here might be a bit much, don't you think? However if you are ever in the Los Angeles or Ventura area look me up and we will go sailing. My e-mail address is novelman@adelphia.net. I will have a new e-mail address so if you think you might be able to in the future e-mail me NOW so I can send you my new one when I get it. Novelman

I apologize for lambasting you.

Heres the thing. It's Christmas. Can we at least try to be nice? No matter what? I just prefer to think a person comes to this site with good intentions, and we should at the least promote ourselves as such. Just look at the answers from Roger, and Terry, and Tom. And just note for a moment that over 600 people have read this thread.... Can't we just be nice no matter what? Besides, we can go back to fighting and arguing in January! Happy Holidays.

A Real Guy...Not On His Period

What A Bunch Of Pussy's

As a guy some of these wussy comments are painful to watch. I am amazed at the petty comments that go back and forth on this site. Some good questions from new and inexperience boaters, only to be followed by cat fighting by some "skirts" who have way too much time on their hands. My guess is that they we not breast fed as infants and they have numerous "unresolved issues". Let's keep all of the "bitching" to minimun and if you can't play nice in the sandbox to back to therapy. Seasons Greetings To All Who Are Positive!

A Real Guy?

If you are "A Real Guy" and tired of this web site, then my suggestion is to take off and go elsewhere. You have the option to skip reading these posts by not selecting them. Obviously, you enjoy reading them because you have opened them. Now stop YOUR crabbing and let others learn from others on this site (as it was designed).

Hey, Real guy, you don't seem to have much regard

for women! As you have so ably demonstrated men can be nasty in their own right. ;)

If The Dress Fits...Wear It...Boys!

Hi all Very funny to watch a bunch a guys talking like some of my girl friends. Not sure who this "Real Guy" really is but I am with him. You all sound like dare I say, "Pussy's". As wearer of a "skirt", I am not offended by that comment from the "real guy". I suggest that all of you kiss and make up and have a cold beer. Happy Sailing Caren
