Heating a MacGregor
Given that the Mac 26 was not designed to be heated, I think your best bet to get the inside warned up would be to use a camping tent heater akin to a Coleman Catalytic Heater. Even though they are not supposed to put out much in the way of toxic (read potentially lethal) fumes, I wouldn't risk sleeping with one going. You'll have to find a way to fasten it down so that it won't slide around or tip.If you intend to sleep aboard, get yourself a good sub-zero sleeping bag. Inside the boat, you'll, at least, be well shielded from any wind.Getting wet means getting cold in a hurry. The best way to avoid getting wet is to have a good set of hooded foul weather gear, gloves, and boots. The key to success is to not to get wet in the first place. If you do get wet the only place you can warm up will be inside the boat. If you're not safely anchored, then who will be driving?Bear in mind that, at this time of year, you may not be able to get any help if your boat becomes disabled, or worse.
