what do you know about cat 2-27

I know someone who wants to sale a CAt 2-27. I haven't heard of it. They say it is wider and heavier than the conventional Catalina 27.. Can any one tell me how to find out more about this boat?steveebryant2000@home.com

You mean a Cal 2-27?

There is a Cal 2-27, but no such model was ever made by Catalina. Cal's version is quite comparable to a Catalina 27, made in the early/mid 70's, about the same weight, etc. Cal 2-27's race against us Catalinas at our club, and PHRF's are the same. While a lot of Catalinas have outboards, Cals are all inboards, as far as I know. Cal did make an OB 27, but that is the Cal 27, rather than 2-27. The "2-" or "3-' in Cal's model lines indicated an updated design.
