Any ideas what to make from an old sail. I've got an old hank on jib with acres of canvas. I plan on whacking six feet off one corner and making an anchor sail, that leaves me with a whole lot for other projects, any ideas out there ???

Bag it

Here are some things that can be made from old sails: 1. Canvas tote/ditty bags 2. Cockpit or foredeck awnings 3. Sail bags 4. Equipment bags that can be tied on deck 5. Generator cover 6. Winch covers 7. Rider sail to use when anchored

Try making

a storm sail. If you can cut it down to a much smaller size, you could still use it for that. Even if it's a medium weight material, if it's small enough it should (could) hold up. Stu

Storm sails must

be very strong. The one thing you don't need in a storm is a blown try-sail or storm jib.
