We bought this little day sailer last year and have had load of fun on it. This year we had a bad knock down with lots of damage. We need to replace parts for the boat but don't know what it is. Would anyone know so we could start to buy parts such as mast step and rail. Thanks so much

Pictures of the damage and close-up pictures of the boat would help.

Three questions? Is there a hull id(serial number) somewhere on the boat? The standard is starboard upper corner of the transom. It will have a code which can tell you the boat mfg.

What does that decal say on the side in the picture? And the boat has a Florida registration. Did you register it? If not could the registration be checked at the BMV? Maybe the information is there.

Hard to believe your title and/or registration don't list a manufacturer.

We bought the boat in the Florida Keys last winter and registered it in Big Pine Key. We are keeping it in storage in Florida because we spend every christmas there and we have an oday here in Ontario. We were given the owners manual last year but it didn't give the brand of boat but we think the name on it was American Fiberglass Company. Owners manual is in our trailer. We are back home now and our trailer is in storage here but not easy to access. There is a serial number on the boat and as we recall it listed the American Fiberglass Comany and other information such as how many people the boat can hold etc. We haven't been able to find anything by this American Fiberlass Company and was wondering if it was actually the manufactuer. I do recall that the boat was built in the Carolina's. Thanks for everyone assistance. Lisa and Scott

Thanks so much

Most piece/parts that you are referencing are not from the manufacturer of the boat but from a supplier.. http://www.dwyermast.com/items.asp?...are&familyID=27&familyName=Tabernacles+&+Pins
These are some of the folks and there are others..
Good luck with the search !
Just went to the site and it appear that those parts are what we are looking for. The screw holes on the mast step are in the right place but should be able to work with that. Thanks again.

I had an American Fiberglass 16 in the mid-70's, no windows. As I remember, it had an extremely large main and a relatively small jib, very hard to trim properly. Sold it to buy lumber for horse fencing. Back into sailing now and very much happier!

Chances are the company is long gone. If the parts aren't in your Defender catalog it may take some searching. Florida has quite a few used marine supply places and you may have luck finding something that will be close enough. Look at this as an opportunity to meet some new and interesting people.
