I asked for inormation about my oat a cuple of months ago and weveryone thaought that my boat had been upgraded by the previouse owner. Talked tot he original owner the other day and he said that the boat was delivered new as is. The boat is a 1989 26.5, WK with wheel steering, pressure hot and cold water, inboard Yanmar diesel, built in head and AC. Anyone know how to trace down production stats for this boat, I've not seen any others like her. Thanks Mark s/v Crosswind

What is the hull ID number on the upper starboard side of the transom?

The H26.5 was outboard only if you believe "Boat Information" on this site. I checked some of the brokers websites and all the 26.5s were outboard(and tillers). Also, if you check the "Owner's Directory" those 26.5 owners who posted their hull id all were hunBxxxxx. But when you look at the H27 hull id's you will see some hunDxxxxx. The best bet is to call Hunter with your hull id. Unless it was built in the UK they should have the detail that you need.

I thought they took the 260 and put the fixed keel, wheel steering and an inboard diesel and dubbed it the 270 a couple of years ago.

Todd, they did do that but it was much later than Mark's 1989. Ed, I don't think that Luhr's Hunters were made in the UK. The UK Hunter will have a different manufacturers HIN designation. I agree contacting Hunter would be the best bet.

Called Hunter

Called Hunter and Greg said that my boat is a 27 Inboard. however the original sail has 265 on it. I woder if they used the same sails for the 26.5 since the hull lenght and rigging were the same. He also said it was the same hull but had the inboard and other amentities installed at the factory.
