I bought an Oday 15' boat last summer and wish to purchase a replacement mainsail as mine is torn. My question is according to the HIN # XDYB4353M78K, i assume it is an Oday 15 model. Is this a correct assumption?

http://www.iheartodays.com/index.html According to my O'Day serial number format sheet, XDY= O'Day, B=Javelin 4353=serial number M78= 1978 and A=November. If I read this number correctly, you have a 1978 O'Day Javelin that was built in the month of November.

Well, Joe is almost correct!
XDYB4353M78K translates to XDY = O'DAY
B = Javelin
4353 = your JAVELIN class#, in other words, yours was the 4353rd Javelin built
M78K = 1978 Model Year built in June 1978. (Model Year ran August to July, for 1978 that would be Aug 77 to Jul 78)
(K = November in the newer HIN format that was instituted in 1984).
Your Javelin is only 14' long, not 15'. Still a very nice little O'DAY!
