So I've been looking for a new anchor. The one that came on my Mac 26S is 10 lb US Anchor (a danforth knockoff)...it works poorly (to put it nicely). I've been looking at the Danforths and I think that is the way to go for our lake (sandy, muddy bottom with some small rocks).
So Danforth sells the traditional galvanized model and the high tensile model. Somehow through some magic and fairy dust, the high tensile model at 5 lbs can hold the same amount as the 14 lb traditional model. 5 lbs sounds much more user friendly than 14 lbs, but it's hard to imagine it has the same effectiveness as an anchor weighing nearly 3 times as much and having nearly the same shape.
Any one have experiences with these anchors or other anchors?
Muchas gracias!
