Roger,

Not to beat a dead horse but why did you grind I ground down the paint to expose most of the structural laminate before applying the letters. Couldn't you have used black letters against the white paint and epoxy over them?
I think if you just put the letters on the paint, a heat gun could let someone scrape the paint off with less "disturbance" of the area- epoxy included- maybe, and that's disturbance is what they look for when they suspect theft.

That was my thought. There is also now correspondence in the NVDC files, with copy on my boat, that the ground area is part of the original number marking and not the result of someone changing the numbers.

I think what a lot of us do wrong-

(or right, depending on your vantage point) , is to become uncomfortable when ever our life style consumes more than we produce. When I am on vacation it is only a matter of days before I am looking for something to do or fix to sort of justify my worth. If I could afford to cast off the lines full time, I probably wouldn't because I need to be needed.

IMG_2416.jpg My boat is buried in the back ground with over 70 inches of snow this winter I feel you pain. All I do is varnish wood pieces and visit Hunter owners. Hang in there where I live snow means water in the Lakes and that is the up side of things.Take care and have a hot drink.
