SPENT A WEEK THERE THIS SUMMER
Mike,We took our h23 up there for a week this summer and had a very good time. The Marina at High Cliff State Park is owned by the DNR, but is leased and run by a concessionair. A transient slip cost us $.50 per ft. and included electricity. I don't know what their yearly rates are. Most boats were in the 26' to 30' range and were shoal draft. The marina is protected by a sea wall and is nice and quiet. The people working the marina and the slip owners were ALL extremely nice and very friendly. It is a low key operation without any snobish attitudes. I found this refreshing and uncommon. Most of the residents get together each Wednesday evening for informal racing. The lake is only 7 ft. deep (average) although we had no problems. Range is 7' - 20' by my depth sounder some areas had lots of shallows but we didn't go into them. The lake builds waves quickly and was VERY fun to sail.I probably have more information about the marina if you want it.Also, Fond Du Lac (at the south end of the lake) has a yacht club (VERY) nice facility. The people were just as friendly. I don't know about yearly fees, but my transient slip for one night was under $10.00. You are close to downtown and one block from a super market. Both Marinas were quiet. Several marinas on west side of Winnabago are also options, but are in larger cities and more noise.Hope this helpsWard
