What a weekend for sailing...not! Winds over 50 knots, ten foot seas. And we were gonna do an overnighter. Best laid plans, etc. On Saturday, we went to the marina and rode out the storm on our boat so we could keep the docklines adjusted. Storm surge was approximately two feet in the marina combines with high tide at Arlenes landfall time. At our dock, high water mark was about eight inches above the dock surface. Well, maybe we'll get out in a couple of weeks.

Little cloudy here, light winds,

lots of boats out and a race, note spin in background. Hope your weather improves soon.

Weekend

Arlene came by, approx 100 miles east of here. Not much going on in my neighborhood, except some higher than normal tides. Sat. was breezy and cloudy, maybe 25 knots. Went out yesterday, and almost dead calm until late afternoon, when we got about a 10 or 12 knot breeze. Overall a very nice day out.

Hmm, It's the Spirit of Dana Point I've attached

website with a little info. Built to Smithsonian plans & supposedly a replica of the "Pilgrim", been used in movies (Amistad) and others supposedly. It used to be "Pilgrim of Newport" when first built. Another website from a prior service under that name is below: http://www.boatcharter.com/PilgrimOfNewport.html
