Whale Gusher in bilge--anybody?

So has anybody installed a Whale Gusher Supersub in their bilge on their O'Day? I am just curious where you mounted it and how (4200 to the the bottom of the bilge) maybe? I am installing this soon and running a new line for out by the manual bilge thru-hull and leaving the manual bilge in as well.

Photo attached shows where I am thinking about mounting it. I would mount it in one of the other two bilge bays forward because there is much more room however the hose out would then have to run through one of the holes that goes between the bilge bays which I don't like thinking it might restrict water flow.

Nobody? I assume others have installed a bilge on their O'Day. It's one of my next 3 projects. Anybody? I am curious where you mounted it and how you mounted it? The Whale Gusher s probably the lowest lying (small footprint) bilge pump and it fits nicely in the O'Day bilge but not sure if I should 4200 it down or install it somewhere else. I would love to mount it in the middle section of the bilge area however I am afraid if I then run the tubing in the hole that runs between the sections it might cause issues. I am going to run the tubing out the side where the manual bilge line is.

I put an attwood in which I am not happy with. It purposely has a loose connection which is supposed to prevent air lock. I don't think that is necessary as the discharged hose has straight assending run. All it does is lower the output.
4200 is overkill. Bildge pumps are almost disposable ìtems. Any home non silicone caulk will do but usually small brass screws are used. Important to keep the connections water tight and high up in the bilge and the wires fused close to the batteries.

I thought about this thread today when I found about 1/4" water in the bilge after the recent Nor'Easter. It tasted salty so I carefully checked the only below water line through hull and valve. It was dry and I have no other underwater holes in the hull.
Then talked to long time sailor who lives near the marina and slips near me. He said that the wind blew the spray and rain so hard that the rain was salty. Hard rain can overwhelm the lazarett lid seals so that explains the salty bilge water.
The possibility of a sinking due to a rain water leak over a couple week period, the most I am away from the boat, and only having one thru hull which is kept closed unless needed, is so minimal that I don't think a bilge pump is needed on my size boat. If I had an inboard I may think differently but I enjoyed a dry bilge all season until this past two weeks so I am happy.
A bilge pump big enough to really protect your boat would need enough battery or shore power to allow the pump to run a lot. Something else I don't want to mess with.
But, your location looks good to me. I would look for a way to wedge it in place than glue it in place.

You are for sure right on the power the pump would need for a rather large leak and I think I might just use 4200 to place it where it is at. .
