For the nuisance water in my bilge I was looking into replacing the small centrifugal type pump (very tired of the massive wash back and inability to drain below 2”) with the new whale bilge IC. This has a soft start to minimize strain on the gears, has an internal flapper in the strum box, and for a nuisance water pump the diaphragm type seems to be a very good option.

I’m wondering if anyone has any experience with this pump specifically vs other types of diaphragm pumps for nuisance bilge water. This is not a crash pump.

Thanks.

I installed a Whale IC Bilge pump this year. Love it as much as you can love any bilge pump. It does what it says it does. Leaves about a ¼ inch of water in the bilge.
