Catalina 30 Ventura
As of today, my wife and I are the very proud owners of a new to us 1983 Catalina 30! She's in amazing shape and the PO really took care of her.
Lots to learn, lots of fun to have.
I'd like to thank the folks on this forum. I have been lurking for a really long time and have learned so much by reading the amazing posts. I will without a doubt be asking a lot of stupid questions, so take it easy on the noob.

enjoy the new boat!
..and these kind of questions are usually easy to answer so we dont mind a bit, but as for taking it easy on the noob/newb/newbie, no one gets cut any slack here.... your a sailor now so buck up and stand your turn at the whipping post like everyone else has done... and still does from time to time:D:D:D

Thanks to all for the well wishes.

Centerline,
Thanks for the welcome. I'm pretty thicked skin, so not afraid to taking a lashing now and then, especially when I deserve it, and trust me, there will be times that I deserve it!

Jtuner,
I've been reading your post since it started. You've done some great work and it's obviously paying off! Luckily, ours seems to be in good shape and only a few very minor items on the survey to tweak.

Unfortunately, we've found the local Westmarine... But, most of what we've picked up is on sale right now, so it seems a little less painful, a little less...

Looking forward to being on the boat 4th of July. Fire up the grill, lay back on the cockpit chairs and watch the fireworks!

What a life! I think we're gonna like this retirement thing.

Time to sail.
