Westerbeke 10 TWO
Hi Martin,I too did buy an '84 Hunter last spring. Same engine. I bought it in North Carolina and sailed it up to Massachusetts, a 900 nm trip. My experience was that she consumed about a half gallon each hour of motoring at cruising speed. The engine turned out to be very dependable, but I learned a few things:Don't run it for a prolonged time over 2800 rpm and do not run it under sail, when the boat is heeling.Otherwise, she starts up every time like a charm and never complains as long as you keep some fuel in that tank. I did discover a connection for a fuel gauge on top of the tank, but there is no indicator. If you find out anymore information about this engine, I would be very interested to know.Good luck with your acquisition,Hans.
