I know we sometimes enjoy busting on 'Worst Marine " but they did right by me today. While waiting for a friend to check out I was looking over the binoculars on display. When a salesman wondered over, I mentioned to him that I had trouble with mine on Wed. Night at Springsteen concert, kept seeing doubles. He said bring them in, he would check them out for me. I happened to have them in the truck. He took 1 glance through them, went in the back, brought out new ones, said " here you go". I pointed out receipt in my case indicated 3 yrs old. He said didn't matter, we stand behind them. Rt 40 store, Baltimore county ,stand up guys.

That's great to hear they stand behind their products.....at least that one. This brings back memories....the Foreigner Double Vision tour...........I didn't even need the aid of binoculars ;)

It pays to watch for their numerous sales and specials.... keep an open mind.. pull the trigger without hesitation... if you get remorse later they will exchange or return no questions.

No problems with WM. Bought their sunglasses years ago. Any problem they replace them. I'm on my fifth pair.

When I started sailing more than 10 years ago, I buy only from West Marine 'cos they are the only one I know to have shipping calculator upfront. Have good description of the products and also great advisory on sailing and boating stuff. Yes they're a little more expensive but I like their no question asked return/replace policy. Used it couple time as well. Whenever I make a trip to US, I make it a point to visit at least one WM store even if it's 10+ miles out of my way. It is like a Mecca to me. Nowadays I hardly buy from WM 'cos other online stores has wise up to the game.
Still I would visit WM store whenever I've the chance to.

I haven't bought a new pair of binoculars in 20 years. When, not if, they go hazy, I bring 'em back and get new ones. This is not a new topic, at least as far as their binoculars are concerned, been around a long time.

If I was going to go out of the country, then I'd change my ways and buy a different set of glasses.

I've bought a ton of crap from WM (not binocs). I have NO problem with the fact they want more $$$ than others. Why? WM is 5 min away from my boat and has a ton of boat parts I'd have to wait 2-3 days to get.

Only problem I have is when they say "I can order that for you..." Hey,... so can I at a cheaper price... But that's minor. I'll support a local physical store when possible, 'cause they'll have something I need exactly when I need it.
