This morning West Marine sent out an email announcing they are dropping Blue Seas and will be stocking products from Egis.

Has anyone heard of Egis, I haven't? Are they just rebranding the same products that Blue Seas does?

I noticed this at my local WM and am curious about the brand as well. The Egis brand is sold at all of the major online chandleries, as well as my favorite online marine mobile electrical systems supplier. So, Ill give them a try when the time comes. I just never noticed before. I do like Blue Sea tho.

Blue Sea is owned by Brunswick and is part of the Navico group under Brunswick. Egis appears to be an independent company.

Hmm ... Egis is just down the road from my boat. Didn't know they existed until about 15 minutes ago.

It seems West Marine is changing a lot of their products, at least in their electrical section. Most of the Ancor products like heat shrink and crimp connectors are now being replaced with the Sea Fit brand. Lower price points.

Closed the two closest stores near my home, went further to use a certificate.

Also, new certificates you earn only are valid for 90 days.
