Today in Alaska, the rain mostly missed us. But some of it went behind the boat.
Still the neatest office I've ever worked at.

I trailered down to Salem harbor in Massachusetts today. I got there later than planned, but I paid the $5 trailer parking and ramp fee, and put Aquaria on the water. It was a little... frisky, at first, but once I turned DDW, and headed for the Bakers Island Light, it just became perfect sailing.
On the way there, this schooner tacked across my bow.
DDW out, so of course into the wind back. I didn't get off the water until almost 8.

Late Wednesday addition. A guy I met this summer who owns a Macgregor 65' figured out the cruising Hawaii cheap thing by loosely following the 72 hour anchoring in one spot rule while bouncing between several anchorages from May through October. Here's his spot from last night in the turn around basin of Haleiwa Harbor. Not a bad spot to watch the sunset.
I spent last night aboard Kolibri balancing the batteries in the 48V motor battery bank. Went for a walk on the docks around 10pm and snapped this shot. The AwlGrip Jade Mist Green is taking a beating from the Hawaii Sun. I will be painting a much lighter color in April at my next haul out.

I’m in Utah. Its October. So best image I can share is the Goblins in Goblins Valley State Park.
We once had a view of Nina for several hours on a lovely afternoon as we passed her racing to Halifax from Marblehead. Beautiful boat.

On our way out, the eagle has landed.
Obviously, the eagle has taken off.

My Morris Annie doing what she does so very well...ripping along in 17 knot winds, gusts to 25 knots with big, lumpy seas. North bound rounding of Oahu's Ka'ena Point heading back to Haleiwa.
We went to the boat to watch the Moon in conjunction with Jupiter in the predawn hours of October 6, including a rare lunar occultation) and will later align near Saturn on October 23–24 and Venus around October 11, 2026

11 seconds of ripping along in 17 knots gusting to 25 with big, lumpy seas for your enjoyment.
Our local reservoir. My wife calls this picture, The Beauty of the Trailersailer.
Our backyard, the day before. I just finished mowing the field before winter. You can just see the bees in their Winter insulation.

They
They are in bed for the Winter, but it's been warm for the last couple of days, and they are out and about.
