I came across a web site of a guy who is sailing through the Great Lakes, out to the ocean, through the Northwest Passage and to Alaska. I thought some here might be interested:

Yes, it is rather a odd choice for that voyage. I wish him fair winds...

I think he (1) wanted a boat that was trailarable; (2)felt speed was important, given the length and limited time window of his trip; and (3) wanted a shallow draft boat.
