It is pretty darn funny the first time some pups where them for the first time. I make our boys booties from soft glove leather and they wear them the whole time they are in the house. They have been wearing them for 8 and 9 years now so they know the drill. Its pretty funny as they stand there in the basement and raise their right front paw waiting on me to start putting them on. If they could only figure out how to get them on themselves!

We bought a set of those at a yard sale last Summer. We are going to use them to keep the Rougarou from scratching up Dragonfly's deck and from tearing holes in the floor of our camping tent. I showed your video to my wife and now we are going to try them on the Rougarou tomorrow.

The first time we put them on Edward he was about 6 months old and he flopped over on his back and held his paws up the air and was trying to shake them off. It was hysterical and both my daughter and myself were laughing so hard neither of us were able to get a video!!!

So I asked Skipper what he thought about wearing paw coverings. His answer was that he’d have my thumbs for a snack. The video is very funny though.

Wayne. I had a Chesapeake Bay Retriver. She was my girl and I was concerned about her feet in the ice and snow. I tried a boot that I had seen used for the Ididirod race. She promptly chewed the boot and removed it giving me a look that said: “Try that again and it will be your foot!”. We never spoke of it again. She was a tough dog. Loved ice water and hunting. Never tired.

Yeah @jssailem , Skip’s happiest when the God given equipment works best. No need for improvement, and it’s self healing with a few licks. He’s all about the snow, ice, and a bright red Kong ball.

I had a yellow lab who I walked daily and she would stop all the time to chew the ice out from between her pads, I put those booties on her and she did about the same dance as seen in the posted video, was funny, really funny I mean really really funny.

I’m told to take my shoes off when I come in the house. It’s a dawg’s life I suppose. Sheesh.

Wilson has a bad time with snow paw as well. His paws have really deep pockets between his toes and the ice builds up quickly in those pockets. It forms a ball and once it gets so big it starts to hurt him and he starts trying to get them out while Edward's paws don't seem to have the same issues. They both now wear snownshoes I make them and all is good.
Just picked up a trainer dogsled called a kick sled. The boys have their pulling g harnesses and were just waiting on enough snow to give it a try. They keep looking at it with suspicious eyes..I think they know something is up LOL

My dog wears them alll the time when we are hunting in places with bad grass burs, she always walks a little funny until the first bird drops, then it’s forgotten the rest of the day.
