O-S-L is a french association, we study plastic marine debris.
We faced a problem with our boat.
So we need a sailboat (36ft or more), urgently, from the 5th of may, for one month, for the "septiemecontinent" expedition

Contact a charter company. There are many in San Diego.

First, several things are odd here:

You're going to be at sea for a month in the vast Pacific on a 36-foot boat with 5 crew? A boat that you have no idea of its history, workings, faults, etc?

How are you going to make a foreign boat ready, provisioned, trialed, etc by 5\5?

That your Hunter is capute beyond repair is a telltail. That you had (apparently) chosen a Hunter for long-term offshore work is also concerning. -nothing against Hunter; the task seems beyond the builder's intended purpose.

I would postpone the "expedition" until such time as a suitable vessel and crew are ready. Many disasters at sea involve bad preparation, which can come from being in a hurry. And you would have an entire month at sea to find a disaster, or multiple disasters.

For the work that you are planning you need a heavy cruising boat. You will need room to set up your instruments and time to make certain that all is ready for 30 days away from land and repairs. 5 crew are going to consume a substantial load of provisions and use much water. I doubt that this can be safely done in ten days.

could you give us a good charter company's name / link ?

I have to say I wrote this message very late, coul not find the right forum, and made a few mistakes (and my english is not fluent !)

We would be 5 crew, but we need a 40-foot boat or more.
The initial boat is not a Hunter but a shooner, the expedition has been prepared for months.
We do not know if it will be available soon, so we need another solution, if our boat
is out of order.

We would taek several days for the boat to be provisioned / trialed, and our trip will
certainly be postponed.

So, if you know a boat, that could be rent for approximatively 3 or 4 weeks...
