Great Choice!

When I was last in the market for a boat the CS36T (traditional) was at the top of my list - great reputation for strength and sailing ability. My problem was that I couldn't find the shoal draft model (which I need for my cruising grounds) in anywhere near the same shape as yours within the time period that I was willing to remain boatless. Fair winds!

NIce boat !!

Nice looking boat. I sailed for years on a CS33 and liked the boat. Used to live a couple of miles from the CS factory in Brampton, until they went under in the economy slowdown. BTW, if you need a link to great info on keeping that topside shiney I can forward it to you. ;)

Scott B - Link to keeping topsides shiny?

I'd be interested in that link. Can you post it here?

Acoustic was sold..

Acoustic was sold to a very wealthy individual from Miami, Florida who keeps a 90 foot Burger in South Freeport. He has 164 feet of dock space and wanted a day sailor for the grand kids but it had to be no more than 31 feet and it had to be spotless. The reason he has 164 feet of dock space is that he is buying a 130 footer within the next year. While we were on sea trials he told me he spent four times the price of Acoustic installing teak decks on his Burger just last year...... What ever floats your boat!!

CS to Catalina

You will love the CS. We had ours for 3 years (CS27) and loved it, but we needed something bigger, so we bought our Catalina 350. Which we love as well :) And yes waiting until you find the right boat is worth it. We looked for over a year and at 10's of boats, all listed excellent condition ... NOT. But we eventually found one. -Ralph

Thanks Scott!

But I have to admit I cheated on this boat as it has a brand new Awl grip paint job. I did however apply two coats of Awl Care polymer sealant...

Was going to send this earlier

but some how got missed. Congrats on the new boat. CS's are pretty familiar sight here- I have raced on a well sailed 30 for several years and our close friends are down in Brunswick GA starting a several year Caribean cruise on their much upgraded 33. Holland marine products here in Toronto is a good source for original CS stuff as they bought a bunch of inventory when CS went under ( including those silly nylon rllers on the mast head of a 30 for the forward halyards. Dont know if the 36 has them) here is the link Not always the easyest people to deal with and if you read the copious warnings etc in the on line catalogue you will getthe favour for the attitude- however Peter's bark is worse than his bite in a lot of ways Appreciate your shared info on waxing- experience proven advice is always very valuable

I have already purchased a bunch of items from Holland Marine, namely, a few stanchion bases.. Slow shipping to the States but that's to be expected anyway with customs..

I really like the 40 and

the price is right for a 1990 only 110k. Really looks nice inside. I would get the newer boat. Much cleaner inside!
