I would like to if there are any sailors out there that have had experiences with Village Marine Watermakers. I have a 8.3 GPH model that has never exceeded 5.0 GPH. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Sorry but I can't be too specific here. I maintain R.O.'s at my work and their principal operation is pretty common. Remember that the 8.3 is a theoretical value if everything is working properly and the unit is relatively new. Temperature of the feed water is a critical factor, and most are rated at 25 degrees C or about 72 F. Any less than this and efficiency drops off pretty dramatically. Also condition of the R.O.membranes and any pre filters is a factor. Obviously if the membrane is bio-fouled it won't make as much water. In addition, the high pressure pump must be working at optimum pressure to generate the maximum osmotic effect. Seals, valves all wear with time. A bunch of factors that all come into play for maximum output. I would call Village marine application specialists and get their read on your unit. Don
