Looking for a source for vinyl tape that is wider than the 4 inch offered by West Marine. Has anyone found one? Tnx

Local sign shop.

Try your local sign shop. They usually can cut vinyl just about any width, but it's not cheap. You can also check your local automotive paint supply store. Hope this helps, Bob

Not a good Idea

I was advised by the 3M rep, not to use tape for a waterline stripe, I did paint a new stripe using a one part epoxy with good results, still there after three seasons use. Good luck!

I agree with John,

Some people love them, but more often than not, I see the vinyl strip flying in the breeze. r.w.landau

Tape experience

Sorry to disagree with you John, but my experience with waterline tape has been good. I painted my 25 Coronado and put waterline tape on which was still in good condition after 7 years when I sold the boat. I also painted my 19' open fisherman and applied a waterline tape 3 yrs ago and it's still in good condition. This boat runs 40mph at times. In answer to Fred, I agree, a sign shop is a good source. Good luck red

Thanks for the resposes. On close inspection I found the waterline width varies so much that painting is the only real way to do it right. Lots of masking tape!!!
