In the middle near the stern of my 94 26 I'm getting water. I can't tell if it is condenastion or a leak. The compartment where the battery is is dry. Any ideas?

Hi there! Could you be a little more specific as to where the water is and under what circumstances it appears (sailing only, all times, after rain)? If you are refering to the compartment where the bilge pump is then it could be comming from water being pushed back into it. On a port tack when heeling, water is pushed through the opening and back into the pump and into the bilge. This problem is solved by using one way valves or looping the tubing above the through-hull fitting. alanp.s. check ALL compartments, under sinks, under seats and the top of the ballast tank if possible.

Cockpit table holder

On my 94 Hunter 26, the mounting hole for the cockpit table was leaking. Try filling it with water as a test.You can get to the underside of it by removing the panel in the celing of the quarterdeck.I fixed mine with epoxy. - paul

In my 26 the previous owner had holes drilled into the waterballast tank (to secure the cooler unit) and as I heeled over to starboard side, the water came out and some of it was collected in the area you describe. There were also water in the cabinet under the sink. So check everywhere with a Kleenex or something that will soak up water.That's how I discovered a leak in the hose from the kitchen sink as well.Toomas
