You are correct that water can be trapped in that area but you must have had alot of seepage for that amount to get in. Hunter did for about a year or two which I cannot remember actually put in an inspecdtion port on the rear stbd point of the floor. If you do decide to put an inspection port in, do not do this on the wood floor at all or you will drill into the tank. Be careful!You have the older 26. When you put that back into the water next spring, please look at the base of the compression post whne under way via motore to make sure no water is coming in.
