Water under mast step...

can anyone recommend a solution to water under my mast step? I've been told that water has leaked through my mast step into the deck and balsa wood. Does anyone know how to dry the water? Possible drying agents? Should I inject the inner deck with epoxy? Is it possible to inject epoxy into the inner deck while there is still water? Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks

First a couple of questions

My mast leaks too! Water can come in the alot of ways, the rigging, wires...etc. The owner of my marina told me that some mast have a cable tube at the base of the mast. When it fills up the water leaks into the boat. He says there is not too much you can do about it if it is coming in the rigging.
