Water Tank

Here is my issue:I partially filled my water tank Saturday before an overnight cruise. I also have a city water setup. I used the city water setup in the marina we stayed at overnight on Sat, night. When we got back to our home marina on Sunday prior to hooking back up to city water, I turned on the water pump to pump the tank empty and no water came out. Is it possible the water was emptied while under pressure from city water or is my pump shot? I will add more water this weekend and recheck, but I was just curious if this is a possible scenario.Thanks,Greg W.

Hi I doubt if the mains hook up has anything to do with it. Do you have valves to switch tanks, thats if you have two tanks. Check valves turned on. Possible to have air lock in filter/pump if the pump runs with no output.Also you did not say if tank was empty now, another thing to check, did you fill up via the deck fill for water, or filled waste tank, thats happened to folks befor as well, I also know someone who filled diesel tank with water, you would probably not have got far if you had done this.Why empty the tank befor hooking back to city water? If you have a newish boat the city setup bypasses the pump, well can't get through to get to tanks.
