Anyone have a picture of the original Port water tank In a Hunter 34? This is a 1983 vintage and was purchased with the tank missing. It was a odd shaped tank I was told by PO but could not provide any other info. Any help on the plumbing diagrams for this model would be of extreme value also. Thanks

I do have a PDF of the plumbing but I don't have a picture of the tank. The attached picture shows a little of how it fits between the aft end of the seat and the big hull beam on the forward side. Short vertical on outside, long vertical on inside, slanted bottom .. holds 35 gallons.
EDIT: The tank looks to be resting on the big beam but it is aft of the beam and extends down to the curved hull liner.

No rule that says it has to be an identical replacement to fit the same space.... This would be the time to find another space for larger tank 'cuz 35 gals isn't much fresh water. Ronco Plastics Ronco Plastics Marine Catalog is your best source... they make TOP quality thick-walled water and waste tanks for a very reasonable price and have more than 400 shapes and sizes, over 100 of which are non-rectangular, and they install fittings in the sizes and locations specified by the customer when they make the tank. Start with the W Series tanks...if you can't find a size/shape that's work among those, any of the B tanks will work just as well. Be sure to tell 'em when you order that it will be used for fresh water holding (waste tanks just have slightly thicker walls.

This is the only picture of my water tank that I have.
There is spray foam insulation between the tank and hull.
Maybe between Kloudie's picture and mine you can make out the shape.
You still have the rear water tank right? I think the rear tank is 30 gals.

Lou, here is another I found in my pictures. This is a forum member's (Brian) tank showing the straight sides.. His access port and gauge is not standard.
Peggy, you are correct, the 35 gal tank isn't a whole lot but as Don says, there is another 30 gallon tank in the stern giving 65 total which is OK or folks who are careful about usage. You can see the selector valve on the fiberglass beam in my picture.

Lo, I have what I believe is my (1983) original tank in the back yard. Here are a few pics.p4.JPG p3.JPG
I'm currently re-fitting so have lots of pics. of everything I took out. Learning the old girl inside and out. Let me know if I can help.
PEGGIE, always the best profile pic, but I've still not seen this tank at Ronco.

Thanks to all the rear tank is still in the boat and is in good working order no leaks, The pictures are just what I needed to get that part of the project done. I have 20 plus years of rerouted plumbing and wiring to replace and return to safe working order.
The info from other Hunter owners on this forum has been priceless.

That's because Ronco didn't make it...and I wasn't suggesting they did. But you should be able to find one among their 400+ tanks that will work and might even be bigger...maybe not in that space, but where is it written that it has to be?
But if you're determined to go with a plug & play replacement, I'm not sure who made the original...Hunter used several sources including an aluminum fabricator (aluminum is ok for water) whose name escapes me at the moment, but someone else here will know. If your tank is plastic, try Duraweld DURAWELD or Inca Plastics Inca Plastics. However, if it was Inca, their tank walls are only 3/16" thick, which isn't strong enough to support the weight of the contents--8.333 lbs/gal. That results in bulging and flexing which results in cracked tanks unless all 4 vertical walls are completely supported....so you don't want another one of theirs!

Glad you like the profile pic. It was definitely time for a new one...the last one was shot in '08.

Peggie, that may explain what happened to mine. A PO tried to fix a breach at the top on the tallest side with so screws, silicone (NSF approved ???) and an angled piece of black plastic.
