Are the water tanks and gauges on my H37C unique to that boat? Each 40 gallon tank has a 3-inch diameter plate with six screws and a 1.25 diameter class-covered gauge in the middle. These gauges are in the front-left corners under each settee. Has anyone repaired or replaced these gauges? If you replaced what was your source for new gauges? Thanks in advance.

Gauge replacement

I replaced the gauge on my water tank on my 340. Hunter provided it graciously at no charge and I hope I don't cause a problem as they were so nice to just send me new parts. The Wema gauge on the water tank just unscrews. You just turn the square plastic part. You do not remove the screws. I used a large pair of channelocks and a cloth to prevent damage and very carefully unscrewed the gauge sending unit. My gauge sending unit was broken off just below where it attaches to the part that screws into the tank. They are quite flimsy. I had to fish the broken off parts out of the tank with a coat hanger. I cut the wires at the splice and soldered the new ones to the wires and used shrink tubing and tape for insulation. Gauge works fine now. Hope this helps.

37C TANK GAUGES

The guages in my 37C need replacing and I think I found the replacement in West Marine Catalogue pg 234 "Tempo fuel gauges. My gauges are the 12 4/4" size(I measured them) model number 100836. Let us know if they fit .

No gauges Jim?

This is a surprise. Are you sure? My boat is a 1979 and the gauges are original equipment. You lift up the port cushion, then the access panel. There in the corner closest to you is the little round gauge, probably scratched or clouded over and hard to read. But mine is clearly on 'E' when there is plenty of water in it. I think I'll pull it out before I chance a purchase of a new one.

Fuel gage only.

I have a 1980 37C and have no water tank gages. The only gage I have is a fuel gage under the bunk in the quarterbirth. I would be interested in putting gages in the water tanks if they would give any semi-accurate reading. Jerry s/v Makai
