Does anyone know if there is any way to drain the water tank on an S25 (1979 model if that even matters) other than a good old fashioned siphon hose?

Thank you but...

It's not a pressurized system, it is a foot pump, and thats a lot of pumping. 8-( Thank you for such a quick response though.

Plans B and C:

Plan B: install an electric pump. :) Plan C: get out the detergent and a scrub brush...disconnect the discharge hose from the water tank...and kill two birds with one stone--clean the bilge using the water draining from the water tank. :) Seriously, a modified "Plan C" is prob'ly your best option...let the tank drain into the bilge...use a dinghy bailer, sponge and bucket to remove the water left behind by the bilge pump. If you don't have an electric bilge pump either, you NEED one of those! 'Cuz you can't bail fast enough by hand in a real emergency...if you keep your boat in the water, you can't bail by hand at all if you're not aboard.

Thank you again

Plan C sounds like a good idea, I hadn't though about just dumping it in the bilge and then bailing it out, its only a 10 gallon tank thats not even full so it won't be much bailing anyhow, thanks again! :)

Water pump drain

Disconnect the water hose going from the tank to the foot pump at the pump side of the hose and drain it into a bucket. Make sure you have enough buckets to hold the contents or another person to dump the buckets while you hold your finger over the open hose end.

Tank draining.

Another thought, If you have a thru-hull fitting for a knot meter in the bildge, and you haul the boat out for the winter, purchase a PVC barbed hose connector and a length of hose long enough to reach the thru-hull. Remove the knot meter transducer, then put the hose extension on the water tank hose & drain the water out the thru hull fitting.
