While filling up the bow water tank on my '06 373, I did what most people do, and left the hose running while doing other stuff, expecting to see water on the deck when the tank was full. This didn't happen for a long time - I thought, wow, really big tank! When I heard the automoatic bilge pump come on, I checked and found about 20 - 30 gallons of water in the bilge. After checking every hose and hose clamp on the boat, I called the vendor who told me to look at the red plastic cap on the water tank. Indeed, it was cracked about 1/4 inch below the O ring, and was the cause of the problem. My vendor tells we that he knows that this part has failed on a number of boats, and that there is a free replacement cap (it is black) available for those who ask. I suggest all owners take a look under the v berth and see what colour their cap is, since Beneteau isn't making any effort to recall the defective part.
